    Matcha Guide

Finding the best matcha for your ritual

The best matcha in Canada is not a single tin for every cup. It is the grade that matches how you drink · water-only ceremony, daily flexibility, or café-style milk drinks.

    01

Which grade is right for you?

Kageha offers focused Japan-origin powders so you can compare without guesswork. Signature Ceremonial is made for the quiet bowl · stone-ground from shade-grown first-flush leaves, vivid green, silky on the palate. If you drink one or two cups a day and occasionally add milk, Classic Ceremonial balances umami and freshness so the ritual stays easy to repeat. For lattes and iced drinks, Barista Edition holds its colour and structure through cold milk and sweeteners. For roasted lattes and baking, Uji Roasted Matcha brings a stronger hojicha-style roast designed for milk, confectionery, and pastry.

    02

How to read a matcha label

Origin matters more than the word "ceremonial." Look for Japan-origin powder from a named region · Uji and Nishio are the most respected · and a milling date or freshness window. Vivid jade colour signals high chlorophyll from shade cultivation. A flat, olive tone means the leaf has oxidized. Every Kageha tin is shade-grown and stone-milled to the grade it is labelled.
